EVRAH STEVE and C
This month at The Foundry we have live fabric
manipulation from the sewing machine of textile
artist Rosie James...
...and live painting by George Perendia:
Soundscape uncertainties
"In general, my paintings result from a process of
gradual abstraction and signification of the
observable and the unobservable, internal, phenomena
out of what would have been a chaos. This process
closely resembles the scientific process of
clustering some phenomena and gradual
identification, correlation and symbolisation of
those phenomena, for example, identification of
nebula from the cosmic universe. However, sometimes
the process of the observation influences the
phenomena. The best example is to most of us
known as Heisenberg's principle of
uncertainty of observation in physics.
In the soundscapes, it is the music that
presents the phenomena and influences the
process of clustering and the symbolisation,
but it is then itself influenced by its concurrent
visualisation".
ARTISTS WANTED FOR FUTURE EVENTS:
If you are an artist interested in participating in
a future such event, do get in touch, or ideally
come along and speak to Steve or Evrah. If you can
create something visual - in any medium, and on a
scale where the audience can watch the process, and
in the time span of up to an hour (though longer may
be possible) we'd be interested to hear from you!
