luminous frenzy
"We've known that it exists for more than 25 years,"
says astronomer Virginia Trembler of the University
of California. "But we don't know what the hell it
is."
But a recent revelation threatens to explain the
phenomena once and for all and amazingly it all
started in a long back garden in London England!
There - two DJ's with an astronomical bent (who
coincidentally are called Luminous Frenzy!) built a
machine the details of which are a closely guarded
secret.
"We called it the Parallel-Uni-Orgasm" said Frank
Frenzy who had the idea one night when he was
cooking carrot and coriander soup.
"It came to me in a flash of inspiration, and I was
able to buy the parts the next day from my local
Maplins store, I showed the plans to Louise Luminous
and she assembled it in a couple of hours, she's
great at that kind of thing - she can even do IKEA
furniture."
But how does it all work? A simple explanation is
that the PUO machine enables the users to see into
parallel universes. Frank explains:
"I tested the machine and found out that I
could photograph myself in many different parallel
universes living many different lives. For example
in the photo you can see me working as a bouncer
refusing to let people with learning
difficulties into a nightclub. Yet in the universe
we consider "real" I work for a charity that
promotes exactly the opposite - we run clubs for
people with learning difficulties!"
Luminous Frenzy realised then that they were onto
something. They finally had proof that people are
all living many different lives in many different
but parallel universes. So what's next for the
inventors?
Louise says: "The next step is to develop the
machine so that you can transport between parallel
universes. If you are unhappy with your lot in this
universe why not try another? We hope to be able to
offer people the chance to make the ultimate
lifestyle change. Once we have perfected the
technique we will be auctioning it on ebay - so
watch this space."

"One of the assumptions of the adolescent or
normative purist is that there is in his oeuvre a
continuity of justified property value. The
forgotten juvenilia extracted from the back room is
never what it is. Or rather it has never been
forgotten. It has always been accorded the status of
the canonical. This is hardly surprising since the
canon has been a fixed and intransitive thing - as
it can be when one's reasons for acting remain
forever unreconstructed as the reasons why one
acted. There is no junk which gets its unforseen
moment in the limelight in virtue of some
retrospective or historical work, some seeing of an
aspect in the diachronic overlap in which discourse
takes place. There is only the model of proper
continuity. The apologetic language of this
continuity is replete with anecdote. Through misuse
of the definite article, accidental encounters and
casual enterprises are retrospectively accorded a
public life. There are no bad moments which may or
may not turn out to be recoverable; instead there
are transitional works.
The greater the morphological continuity in
distributed one-idea culture, the greater the
likelihood that there will be a sense of justified
continuity of property value. A continuity in
appearance appears to disarm charges of callow bad
faith as there are no revalued surprises. What there
is is historicism in reverse."

RADMILLA CLICK
Time-Travelling Secret Agent
During the cold war both the US and the Soviet Union
gathered information about strategic locations by
using a technique called remote viewing. By
focussing on map co-ordinates, spies were able to
make drawings of these locations, the veracity of
which was verified later using traditional espionage
techniques. Radmilla Click will repose under a bed
during her travels, a bed on which a visitor will be
able to lie. They will pass a sealed envelope under
the bed to Radmilla, containing a specified location
and date. She will then make a drawing of what she
sees there, which may (or may not) be of strategic
interest...
